I'd spent years building products for other people's companies. Some of them were great. Most were fine. None of them quite served the businesses I saw around me — the laundromat downstairs, the corner shop selling airtime, the fintech founder shipping from a co-working space in Yaba.
The software the world was building for us assumed we lived somewhere else. Different bandwidth. Different payment rails. Different scale. Different problems. The gap between what was being built and what was needed was wide enough to drive a fleet through.
So I started sketching. Then I started building. Then I started Surf.
We're a small team with patient ambitions. We own what we ship. We say no to work that doesn't fit. We share what we learn. And we keep sketching, because every product worth building started as a drawing nobody else thought was important.

Founded
Surf Digital Technologies registers in Port Harcourt. One engineer, three notebooks, a problem to solve.
First product: Qliina
Our laundry SaaS goes from sketch to beta in 11 months. The first paying laundromat goes live in April.
Consulting opens
We start taking on selective client engagements — software development, IoT, and digital transformation work for businesses across Nigeria.
Quiika begins
The Quiika fintech rail enters development. Building African payment infrastructure from the API up.
Pan-African
Surf products live in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya. The team grows. The sketchbook fills up.
